In the illustrious annals of Nigerian golf, Dr. Lanre Olaiya has etched his name in gold with an extraordinary feat that will resonate through the fairways of time. On the hallowed grounds of the Tukur Yusuf Buratai Golf Resort and Country Club in Abuja. Dr. Lanre displayed a mastery of precision, skill, and perhaps a touch of destiny as he achieved the pinnacle of every golfer's aspiration—a hole in one on the challenging 16th hole.
As a distinguished member of the esteemed Birdie Ancestors Golf Group, Dr. Lanre joins the revered ranks of Joseph Ake, John Oga, Gibson Lee and Emmanuel Adedeji, all of whom have left an indelible mark on the rich tapestry of Nigerian golfing history with their own hole-in-one triumphs. Dr. Lanre remarkable achievement is not only a testament to his prowess on the course but has set up the grounds for more hostilities between him and his sparing partners on the golf course; many of whom until today have had the bragging to the numerous battles. It is hoped that this feat will turn the tide in Dr. Lanre’s favour in the battles to come.
